There are many benefits you can enjoy by developing just this habit, maybe for 15 mins a day. Try it and keep growing this period, because you will never run out titles to read.
Here are the 8 Genres you should give a go.

FICTION

Fiction is the most popular genre for young minds, who enjoy books that are based on the crossover of imagination and possibilities. If you were to read fiction, consider it as a transporting medium that takes you into another realm, full of possibilities and sometimes magic.
Modern fiction writers draw their inspiration from old mythological stories with a generative twist, and just like that we have some amazing plots like Game of Thrones, Harry Potter series, Twilight series etc.

Mythological Fiction

Another most popular genre especially in India, we have stories that are drawn by logical conclusions and understanding of our great scriptures like Ramayana, Mahabharata and Shiva Purana. Famous book? The Shiva Trilogy, this book broke the internet with its reviews and popularity. The reason these books are famous is that they fill the loopholes in the stories, but also bring out the human-like characteristics of the godly figures, signalling the mistakes even they did. Highlighting the nature of a human, and breaking the perfect karmic figure.

Biographies and Autobiographies

There are a lot of options, when it comes to books that describe the journey of a successful person, portraying their journey. These books inspire to bring out the best in you but also gives you a chance to learn from others mistakes. Sometimes the message in these books is so powerful that they can motivate you to bring out a change in the society, which is the need of the hour.

Literature

Although this is the most reminisced genre, it offers a great read for everyone. The language itself can be so beautiful is the most relished factor after reading these books. The formation of today’s literature and the fact that it evolved beautifully from poetry to novel writing. The best reads are from Thomas Hardy and Shakespeare. Understanding these genres might take time, and reading them at one go isn’t easy but with a little time into it, you will enjoy the style of writing.

Horror

This genre is as exciting as watching a good horror movie. If you’re a fan, you’re in for a treat. These books have the gravity to hold your attention and make you not want to stop. Some writings are so catching that the density of the situation described can be felt in real-time. If you are an avid reader, you already know what I’m talking about, but if you are not, imagine yourself with blindfolds and someone describing each moment around you while you are in a horror house.

Thriller

People who crave the suspense, and don’t cave in for the dangers of blood, and other horrific images of dismembered body parts. The best part of these books is that they develop a sense of curiosity better than anything else. Thrillers also make great movie plots and record for good stories. R.L Stine and Agatha Christie. The beauty of reading thrillers is the style of writing. The authors weave a picture in your head, a scenario with just words and in minutes you are with several images that your mind animates into a short movie-like sequence.

Humour

After so many intense genres we need a palate cleanser, for the brain right? Humour is your best option. Reading humour is like reading comic books, just with better literature. There are good options available out there to choose from and you can read as many as you want. Everyone enjoys a good joke after all.

Self-Help

These narratives are the most influential. They inspire people to take up habits, challenges, and paths in life have the potential to change one’s life. Self-help is the most selling genre of the times and has been influencing people for more than a decade. Ever heard of Shiv Khera? He is an Indian author whose book was the best selling. You can win is the book that exploded the world, and has sold more than 3 million copies all around the globe.
These books establish a sense of learning in the reader and often comes with guidelines on how can you utilize the book to the fullest. You are required to make notes if you wish to have positive results. Sometimes when approaching someone to discuss your problems, self-help books are the best alternative. They let you see the different paradigms of a situation and give you the courage to move ahead.

Although it depends from person to person, about the choice of genres, reading being the productive habit it is the need for good genres is only increasing. I lately found myself reaching to more mythology fictions and autobiographies. There is a growth curve that needs to be raised constantly when we adopt a habit productive as such.

If you think I should read a book and review it, let me know in the comments and I will do so happily.

Until next time folks

Bye
